  • Iconic Views From the Lane: Celebrating Our Outdoor 50m Pool

There is nowhere quite like it. With the Sydney Harbour Bridge as your backdrop and 50 metres of open water ahead, every lap at North Sydney Olympic Pool is a reminder of why this place is extraordinary.

First opened in 1936, North Sydney Pool has hosted Olympic trials, world record swims and generations of community swimmers who simply love the water. The heritage-listed facility sits proudly on the shores of Sydney Harbour, offering an experience that no indoor pool can replicate.

    The Pool Itself

Our outdoor 50-metre Olympic pool is heated year-round and lane-marked for serious lap swimming. The 10-lane configuration means there is always space — whether you are here for a casual swim before work or deep into squad training.

Adjacent to the main pool, the teaching pool and leisure areas provide a gentler space for families, casual swimmers and our Lil’ Legends program participants.

    Why Members Keep Coming Back

Ask any regular and the answer is the same: the view, the community and the sense of tradition. There is a quiet pride in swimming in a pool that has witnessed so much history.

Whether you are a first-time visitor or a long-time local, we hope the pool becomes part of your routine.

  • New Aqua Fitness Timetable — Winter 2026

Our updated winter aqua fitness timetable is now live. Six new sessions have been added, including an early-morning Aqua HIIT class starting Monday 2 June.

    What’s New

    • Aqua HIIT — Monday & Wednesday 6:30am. High-intensity interval training in the shallow end. Suitable for intermediate swimmers and above.
    • Gentle Aqua — Tuesday & Thursday 9:00am. Low-impact mobility and strength work, ideal for seniors and those returning from injury.
    • Deep Water Running — Friday 7:00am. A zero-impact cardio workout for runners and triathletes cross-training through winter.

    How to Book

All aqua fitness classes must be booked in advance through the customer portal. Classes fill quickly, especially the early-morning sessions, so we recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead.

Existing members with class add-on access can book immediately. If you are a swim-only member, class add-on pricing is available at the front desk.

  • Lil’ Legends Celebrates 500 Swim School Graduates

This month, the Lil’ Legends Swim School reached a milestone — 500 graduates have now moved through the full program from Infants to school-aged levels since the program was relaunched in 2022.

The achievement reflects the effort of our teaching staff, the families who make the drive week after week, and — most importantly — the kids who show up ready to learn.

    From Infants to School Aged

Lil’ Legends is structured across four stages: Infants (6 months – 3 years), Pre-School (3–5 years), and School Aged (5–14 years), which splits further into six progressive swim levels. Each level builds on the last, moving children from water confidence through to independent, competent swimming.

“Watching the kids progress from being nervous in the water to swimming confidently is one of the most rewarding parts of this job.” — Sarah, Senior Swim Instructor

    Enrolments for Term 3

Term 3 enrolments are now open. Places fill quickly — we recommend securing your spot before the end of May to avoid missing out.
